BegPiecing: Beginning Piecing Class
This class is an introductory class to learn using a rotary cutter, ruler and mat and , basic
piecing and assembling a lap quilt using a sewing machine. Your machine should be in good
running condition. You will need to know who to use your machine and how to stitch a seam. A
quarter inch presser foot is very handy also. Machines will be available from the seam Shoppe
for a minimal fee.

Face masks must be worn when interacting with teacher and staff.

Machine manual if you have one(not necessary if you are familiar with your machine

Rotary cutter with new blade, acrylic rulers (6 x 12 or larger, rotary cutting mat
Basic sewing supplies
Fabric needs
4 fat quarters. These will be your focus fabrics so they should coordinate with each other
1 ⅛ yd background. This should be a tone on tone, batik or solid that coordinates with your
focus fabrics
1/2 yard binding
1 1/2 yds backing fabric
Batting 40 x45
Matching thread or neutral color
