Herbs de Provence Salt Rub

Herbes de Provence with Sea Salt is a delightful blend of herbs and sea salt, inspired by the flavors of the Provence region in France. Let me share some details about it:

  • Ingredients: This traditional French blend combines unrefined sea salt with aromatic herbs, including thyme, rosemary, basil, lavender, marjoram, fennel, and savory.
  • Flavor Profile: The enticing aroma of garden herbs, complemented by the sweet scent of lavender flowers, makes this blend mouthwatering and soothing to the soul.
  • Usage: You can use it as-is or chop the herbs finer. It pairs wonderfully with slow-roasted chicken, beef, lamb, buttered potatoes, corn on the cob, broiled tomato slices, and even baked into bread.
  • Recipe Idea: How about trying a Rosemary White Bean Chowder? Here’s a simple recipe:
    • Ingredients:
      • 2 Tbs Extra Virgin Olive Oil
      • 1 yellow onion, diced
      • 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth (low sodium)
      • 1-2 Tbs s.a.l.t. sisters Herbes de Provence with Sea Salt
      • 12 oz unpeeled red potatoes, diced
      • 2½ cups coconut milk
      • 1/3 cup flour
      • 1 can Cannellini beans, drained and rinsed
      • 2-3 oz kale, chopped
    • Directions:
      1. Heat the EVOO in a large pot. Add the onion and sauté until tender (about 5 minutes).
      2. Stir in the broth, Herbes de Provence, and potatoes; bring to a boil. Simmer for 30 minutes.
      3. In a medium bowl, whisk together coconut milk and flour. Add this mixture along with the Cannellini beans to the simmering broth.
      4. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until potatoes are tender.
      5. Add the kale and cook until wilted (about 3-5 minutes).
